WORK STATION and COMPUTER: How can I get it?

The Doctoral School secretariat office (9:00-12:00, infoict@dit.unitn.it) will assign you a work station either within the Open Space or within the laboratories of the Department.


EMAIL, INTRANET PASSWORD, CODES for FAX-COPIER: How do I get it?

CISCA Office (Faculty of Science) will release you the Intranet password and Email account you need. Fax and Copier codes will be assigned by your Tutor.


TUTOR: Who is going to be and which are his/hers duties?

Your Tutor will follow your study activity. The School Secretariat (9:00-12:00, infoict@dit.unitn.it) will communicate to you the name of your Tutor.


STUDENT’S CAREER: what is it?

The Student’s Career is an information system which monitors your course of studies. Your Tutor, the School Secretariat and yourself will record all carried out activities. To access your Student’s Career data you will need a LDAP password, which you can get from the CISCA Office at the Faculty of Science.


ITALIAN COURSES: who does it?

CIAL organizes Italian intensive and extensive language courses.


LANGUAGE OF THE SCHOOL

English is the official language of the program. Courses, written and oral exhaminations, as well as the thesis are carried out in English. English is the language of the Academic everyday life.


WHAT DO I DO FIRST?

One of the first things to do is to set up your study plan with your Tutor. Information on how to proceed about this is available in the Manifesto Studiorum.


STUDENT REPRESENTATIVES: who are they?

Every year the students elect two representatives. Their responsibilities will be to speak on behalf on all Phd students and communicate to them matters that are related to the school.

Do I need authorization to submit a paper to a conference or a workshop?

Before submitting a paper the student must obtain an informal authorization of their tutor/advisor on the submission.


Some papers (e.g. from Springer's LNCS) are not available for download from UNITN library. How can I get those papers?

If a paper you would like to download is not available via university subscriptions (using the library catalogues) then you should contact the authors asking if they could send you a copy.


ACCOMODATION, STAY PERMIT, HEALTH INSURANCE:

All these matters are managed by the Welcome Office.
